Description

This is a review activity to promote higher level thinking during your Reconstruction review. In the “Odd One Out” students are given primary source images and excerpts from which they have to analyze and develop patterns. Once they have detected the pattern, they have to identify which image is the “Odd One Out” – doesn’t fit the pattern. Students are then required to write justification statements on their answer. You complete the activity with a class discussion where students share their justification statements.

This resource includes 5 different Reconstruction “Odd One Out” handouts. You can use them all or differentiate for your students.

Each Reconstruction handout has 4 different primary sources.

This activity can be used as an anchor station or for whole group discussion. The class discussion will benefit your ELL students.
