This is an activity to promote higher level thinking during reviews. In the “Odd One Out” students are given primary source images from which they have to analyze and develop patterns. Once they have detected the pattern, they have to identify which image is the “Odd One Out” – doesn’t fit the pattern. Students are then required to write justification statements on their answer.
This activity can be used as an anchor station or for whole group discussion. The class discussion will benefit your ELL students.
