The first day of school is always so hard! You rush, rush, rush around trying to set up your classroom in between mandated staff developments and then it hits! You are about to have a group of new kids! What do you do on that very first day of school? Have a classroom scavenger hunt! Rather than lecture the kids about rules and procedures, have them experience what you want them to know. Create a scavenger hunt that guides your students around your room and teaches them the rules and the same time! At the end you can wrap it all up with an annotated map.
